Choose the current July 2026 exam as the target and remove clearly outdated resources. Read the ECO, note the three domain weights and take a mixed diagnostic without studying for the score. Its purpose is to expose familiarity, reasoning habits and concentration limits.
Create a realistic weekly calendar. Protect several shorter sessions and one longer block rather than relying on spare time. Record the exam target, available hours, learning resources and a simple error log. If training is still incomplete, integrate the 35 hours rather than treating training and study as unrelated work.
Begin with People and Process, then bring Business Environment into every week because it now represents 26 percent of the exam. After each learning block, answer a small set of related scenarios. Review every uncertain answer, including correct guesses.
Rotate predictive, agile and hybrid contexts. Create short notes only for principles you need to retrieve or distinctions you repeatedly miss. The goal is not to reproduce a textbook. It is to recognize the situation, understand the responsibility and choose a defensible project-leadership action.

Move from topic-isolated questions to mixed sets. Track the reason for each miss. A knowledge gap needs review; a reading error needs slower parsing; a judgement error needs comparison of decision principles; a pacing problem needs timed practice.
Use performance by domain and error type, not one overall percentage. Revisit a weak area with focused learning, then test it again in mixed questions. Improvement after correction is more meaningful than repeatedly retaking a memorized question set.
Complete at least one realistic 180-question, 240-minute simulation with the two-break structure. Practise the environment, timing, food, hydration and interruption controls you expect on exam day. Review the simulation over more than one session so analysis remains thoughtful.
In the final week, prioritize recurring gaps and decision patterns. Avoid adding a completely new library. Confirm identification, appointment details, travel or online-testing requirements. Use stable results and error quality to decide whether to keep or move the exam date within PMI’s policies.
A study plan should change when the evidence changes. At the end of each week, record completed time, topics covered, practice volume, recurring error patterns and energy level. Compare this with the schedule you expected. The purpose is not to punish a missed target; it is to make the next week achievable and focused.
Distinguish a knowledge gap from a decision gap. Knowledge gaps call for targeted reading, instruction or recall practice. Decision gaps appear when you know the concepts but misread the role, sequence, constraint or best next action in a scenario. Correct them with written reasoning and new examples rather than repeatedly rereading the same chapter.
Protect a small number of repeatable sessions instead of building a heroic calendar that collapses after one busy week. Move the examination date only through a deliberate readiness decision that considers practice quality, pacing, life commitments and booking policies. A longer plan is not automatically better; a sustainable feedback loop is.
Clear answers
It can be for some candidates, but the plan should expand or contract based on baseline knowledge, weekly capacity and measured readiness.
Choose a sustainable amount you can protect consistently. Quality learning, practice and correction matter more than an arbitrary hour total.
Begin with focused learning, then move quickly into mixed scenarios because real questions combine people, process and business context.
After broad coverage and mixed practice, with enough time remaining to analyze and correct the results.
Consider the trend, error causes and current scheduling policy. One score alone should not control the decision.
Choose the topic, practice set and correction task before the session begins.
